Our truth standard, in the open
In an internet filling with confident, unsourced, often-wrong AI writing, the rarest thing is a claim you can trust. So we built our verification into the open.
Not "studies show." An actual primary reference — the original paper, the engineer's own interview, the patent record — with a date. Where we cannot confirm something in a primary source, we do not quietly drop it and we do not assert it. We mark it as unverified, on the page, and say why.
Before a Blueprint is published, its facts are checked by independent AI verifiers built by different companies — Anthropic (Claude), OpenAI, and Google (Gemini). This is deliberate. Two models from the same company tend to share the same blind spots, so they agree with each other even when they are both wrong. Models from rival labs fail differently, so what one misses another tends to catch. In our own testing, an independent model repeatedly flagged real errors — invented citations, an over-stated mechanism — that a same-company check waved through.
The system is fail-closed: if any independent verifier flags a material problem, the Blueprint does not go out until it is fixed and re-checked. Passing is not a majority vote; a single unresolved objection stops it.
Machines catch factual errors well; they do not own judgment or honesty. The final gate is a human editor who reads the finished piece and decides whether it is true, fair, and worth your time. No Blueprint is published on a machine's say-so alone.
Many beloved biomimicry stories are half-myth. The "constant-temperature" termite mound was corrected by biologists decades ago; "the Gila monster gave us Ozempic" is flatly incorrect. When a story is part legend, you get both halves here — the tidy version and what the researchers actually measured. The honest version is usually the more useful one anyway.
This is the opposite of AI slop. It is slower, it kills some of our best lines, and it is the whole point.
