Why I built The Wild Blueprint

The idea that wouldn't leave

I'm an engineer by trade and a builder by instinct, living in the tropics of Penang. I spend my time around two things that rarely meet: precise, load-bearing engineering — and wild, unreasonably clever nature. The more I looked, the more the wall between them dissolved. A kingfisher had already solved a problem a bullet-train company was still fighting. A termite mound was doing HVAC without a compressor. The designs were just lying there.

And almost everything written about them online was either shallow ("wow, nature!") or quietly wrong — a tidy legend repeated until it felt true. That bothered me more than it should have. So I started building the thing I wanted to exist.

What we're really doing

Every extinction is a deleted patent. Each species is a set of field-tested answers to hard problems, and when it disappears that knowledge is gone before we ever read it. The Wild Blueprint is an attempt to read the designs while their originators are still here — and to do it honestly, so the library is worth trusting a decade from now.

The knowledge is the product. Video, posts, this page — all of it is just distribution. The library is what lasts.

My job: curator, not oracle

I'm not here to be the star. My job is to find the stories, look closer at the real mechanism, and — this is the part I care about most — make sure it's true. Every load-bearing claim is checked by three independent AI models and a human editor before it goes out. When the famous version is wrong, I tell you. The AI does the heavy lifting; my job is to give it judgment, a point of view, and the honesty to kill a good line when it doesn't hold up.
